Ali x Cradles To Crayons

Hi, Cradles To Crayons

I really want to work with you.

Even though I’ve spent much of my career in the for-profit sector, I love the non-profit world, and especially causes that benefit children. I have 10 years of creative experience, 8 years of leadership experience, and 4 years of experience being a really cool mom.

The TLDR; I’m probably one of your only candidates this experienced in the creative field, DEI issues, and the non-profit sector (maybe the only one!).

A time lapse of the making of the scribbles used in the booklet I sent over. It would be interesting to have these made by real kids and used throughout the branding!

By the numbers:

  • I have 8+ years of leadership experience & 10+ years of creative experience (with a BFA in graphic design). Most of my management experience has been remote.

  • I can do anything creative: brand design, motion, illustration, web or print design, event design and copywriting. Just name it — I’ve done it.

  • I have been invested in the mission of Cradles to Crayons for many years my entire life

For your convenience

A list of my most relevant work

I have extensive experience in the nonprofit sector with cause-based work. On top of that, my experience in brand-building creative spans more than a decade.

Rehumanize International

I’ve volunteered creative direction, art direction, design, motion and copy with nonprofit Rehumanize, as they tackle issues like nuclear disarmament, drone strikes, police brutality, torture, and the death penalty. I’ve completed multiple explainer slideshows on all of these issues. For each slideshow, I developed the copy, story, graphics, and most of the illustrations.

I’ve designed T Shirts with custom illustrations and hand-lettering to support those causes.

The Racist History of the Death Penalty

I created a short explainer video for Rehumanize about the racist history of the death penalty last year (2023). I pitched the concept, wrote the script, and completed the animation.

CODEPINK

For about a year, I volunteered creative direction and design with CODEPINK: Women for Peace. They wanted help with explainer graphics for their social media presence, particularly for instagram. I completed 4 sets of social slideshows for them explaining complex issues in compelling ways, including some copywriting.

The final direction that I created for Flexcar’s brand

Oh, and I’m a brand expert.

There’s no brand I can’t blueprint.

For most of my career, I’ve worked on brand and web design. I got really good at it.

Here are a few of my favorite branding projects:

I promise that I don’t discriminate against brands that start with other letters.

This was taken on the balcony of my old apartment in Pozzuoli. Mamma Mia!

The number one reason to hire me?

I’m a brand-building maven

I’ve spent my entire career building brands — from logos, to brand guidelines, to OOH campaigns and back. I’ve done it all. Combine that with my nonprofit experience, my long history of working with kids (and shorter history raising a couple), and maybe you’ve found your next hire.

I hope to hear back soon!
